Cambodia Visa Types and How to Extend Them

Most visitors enter on a tourist or business visa, and both can usually be extended inside Cambodia.

Main visa types

• Tourist (T): holidays and short visits. A limited extension is usually possible.
• Business or Ordinary (E / EB): work, business and longer stays. Can be extended for longer periods and is used by many expats.
• Other categories: student, diplomatic, official and others, with special documents.

How to get a visa

1. E-visa: apply online through the official government e-visa website before travel
2. Visa on arrival: available at major airports and border crossings for many nationalities
3. Embassy visa: obtained from a Cambodian embassy or consulate before you travel

Extending a visa

1. Apply through the immigration department or an authorized visa agent
2. Submit your passport, photo and the application form, and pay the fee
3. Choose the extension period offered for your visa type
4. Collect your passport with the new stamp or sticker

Important rules

• Keep your passport valid for at least six months
• Overstaying results in daily fines and can create problems with later entry
• Extensions and fees depend on your visa type and are updated from time to time
