Sihanoukville is Cambodia's main deep-sea gateway, and most imported containers arrive here before going to Phnom Penh and other cities.
Why importers use it
- It handles most container cargo from China, Southeast Asia and beyond
- It connects to Phnom Penh by road, including the expressway opened in 2022
- It has multiple terminals for containers, general cargo and bulk goods
What happens on arrival
- The shipping line sends an arrival notice
- You pay the shipping line charges and receive the delivery order (D/O)
- Your broker files the customs declaration
- After release, you book a truck and collect the container
- You return the empty container to the designated depot
