Cambodian labor rules protect workers and set clear duties for employers.

Basics for employers

  1. Register the enterprise with the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training and register your employees
  2. Use written contracts: fixed duration or undetermined duration, with job title, pay, hours and conditions
  3. Pay salary on time and issue payslips
  4. Register with the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) for the required employer and employee contributions
  5. Withhold tax on salary where applicable and report it

Minimum wage

A legal minimum wage applies mainly to the garment, footwear and travel goods sector and is reviewed regularly. Other sectors set pay by agreement and market rates.
